St. Paul's Quilting Group

Community Quilting Group

The Needles for Needs Quilting Group makes quilts for two ministries: Lutheran World
and Project Linus

LWR quilts are assembled and then sent across the world to those in need.  Project Linus is a program in which quilts are made and given to comfort local children that are seriously ill, traumatized, or in need.

In August of 2012, St. Paul's Needles for Needs donated 17 Project Linus quilts to Memorial Health Center and Taylor County Social Services Department.  (Pictured above are program leaders Chris Konieczny (front left) and Tonya Albers (front right) along with MHC employees)

LWR QUILTS SHIPPED EACH FALL!LWRquilts 2013  In 2012 the Needles for Needs Quilting Group shipped 19 Lutheran World Relief (LWR) to people in need around the world.  In 2013, with the help of many church & community members, they tripled that number with a total of 62 LWR quilts shipped!  Great job!  God's Work. Our Hands.

Needles for Needs needs is always in need of donations of fabric, embroidery floss, and filler for the quilts.  Please place donations in the bin located in the narthex.  The group also appreciates monetary donations which are used to buy supplies.  Monetary donations can be dropped off in the church office.

The group is looking for volunteers who would like to help cut fabric, sew, tie LWR quilts. There are ready-to-sew fabric bundles for the LWR quilts in the table in the narthex.  There is a sign out sheet on the table with instructions.  Feel free to take these bundles home with you to sew and then bring them back to the church when complete so they can be tied together to make a quilt!  Help is also needed to quilt, knit, or crochet blankets for Project Linus.

Everyone is welcome to help with this wonderful ministry!  Contact group leaders: Chris Konieczny or Tonya Albers for more information.

 Prayer Shawl Ministry Group

The Prayer Shawl Ministry is a group of members from churches in the Medford area.

The group meets regularly at St. Paul's and other area churches to plan and make the prayer shawls.  These prayer shawls are then given to people in need in the community who are home bound, in assisted living, are dealing with an illness, or have experienced a tragedy.  The shawls have a note attached to them that indicates that many people are thinking of and praying for them.

Above is a photo of the Prayer Shawl Ministry Group at work at St. Paul's in February, 2012.
